JFK's assassination, the Vietnam War, the Space Race, the British Invasion, the Cold War, Wingham High School opened - it was all happening in the 60s, although it is said that if you remember the 60s, you weren't really there.

 

Fashion was changing too, from floral frocks that echoed the conservatism of earlier years, to shorter skirts with knee boots and loads of fringe, fitted mini dresses and heavy eyeliner.
